For a unique public transport experience in Perth and a way to get out on the spectacular Swan River, why not consider catching the ferry?
Ferries are not as common in Perth as they used to be, but there is one place where taking a Ferry truly is the best option not only for economy but also for the views.
The South Perth foreshore is a wonderful place to play with the kids, dine at the never ending display of delicious seafood on offer at the many spectacular restaurants and take some time to walk along the shores of the river that makes Perth so unique. From South Perth you can enjoy water activities, barbeque facilities and nightlife and entertainment that are unmatched in character throughout the rest of the city.
But how to get there? South Perth is linked with the city by the only regularly running Ferry in Perth City. Every day of the week the south Perth Foreshore is connected with the beautiful inner city parkland that is Perth Esplanade.
The ferry runs every 20 – 30 minutes throughout the day and departs from the Barrack Street Jetty, Riverside Drive, Perth City. The trip takes around 7 minutes and you get to see the beautiful Perth City scape from the water. When you arrive in South Perth you will alight at the Mends Street Jetty for a day of fun in the beautiful suburb that offers entertainment and dining not to be matched. Also in walking distance from the Jetty are the spectacular Perth Zoo and all the excitement that brings the whole family.
Tickets are available at vending machines on both jetties.
